This is the first video produced in England by Breda Beban and Hrvoje Horvati, after leaving their afflicted and divided country Yugoslavia. The themes of Beban and Horvati are elementary and poetic: the power of memory, the passing of time, the natural movements of ebb and flow and their effects on the inner world of our thoughts.Rhythm and structure of the video are musical and the pictures are visual poetry, revealing a kind of 'landscape of the everyday'. It is striking that the makers have succeeded in evoking a dreamlike atmosphere without resorting to the many technical tricks which are offered by the medium video. They worked with natural light and very subtle optical effects.
