A story from the world of boxing and big money, not always clean, told fast and furious and well acted. Sturdy music and dramatic slow-motion boxing fragments give the film extra cachet. The film visibly joins the rich tradition of (mainly American) boxing films. The bent boxing promoter Tony Farrington has an eye on the promising young boxer Murray Ritchie, but Ritchie isn't easy to prise loose of his old and upright managers Jack and Jimmy. In Farrington's eyes, all means are justified to achieve his goal. He sets a trap for the others: Ritchie is accused of rape, comes into contact with the cops and misses his title fight. Once in trouble, he is easy prey for Farrington.
