Histoire orientale

In an anonymous Arab country, the young newspaper reporter Mustapha is plagued by the feeling that he is a failure. He becomes holed up between his obsessions, nightmares and his arrest. History and reality fight inside him for precedence.Histoire oriental is the first Jordanian film in twenty years. The maker has used all the audiovisual means at his disposal. The nightmares direct the visual tableaux the style of the film is based on this difference between symbolism and reality and it thus distinguishes itself from films which primarily tell their story through dialogues.
