An ingenious and satirical video about love rituals. The video was commissioned by the video magazine Time-code. The theme of the commission was ‘the rituals of love’. One of the conditions was that no dialogues could be used. That was resolved by Trividic by using very graphic titles.Trividic took the word ‘ritual’ literally and placed the action in an 18th-century nunnery, Kaufbeuren in Bavaria. A young nun, sister Crescance, has a vision of the Holy Spirit in the form of a beautiful young man. The nunnery gets very excited. The mother superior orders the construction making of a portrait of the Holy Spirit as it appeared in Crescance’s vision. The portrait eventually comprises the image of a gorgeous naked young man. Once again there is excitement, but now scandal too in the nunnery. It is clear that sister Crescance has confused earthly and heavenly love; that she has not been able to distinguish between the love. Crescance is suspected of being influenced by the devil and the order comes from Rome to destroy the painting.Trividic ascertains that in many languages there is only one word for love, be it love of God or sexual love; the fusion of the two very different concepts forms the basis for this video, which uses all modern video techniques and is related to the music video in its style.
