Meticulous and elegant documentary portrait of the great Swedish film-maker Ingmar Bergman. Björkman constructed his portrait from a variety of elements: a close film interview with the master, Bergman on the set of The Touch, fragments from that feature and talks with close colleagues such as cameraman Sven Nykvist and actresses including Bibi Anderson and Liv Ullman. About his practical approach, Bergman for instance says that he first makes notes about a certain idea, then he talks to various actors about their roles and only then does he sit down and write the script. Bergman also talks about less practical issues, such as the visions and dreams that he wants to share with an audience.
