On this page you can find everything you need to know about IFFR locations, including hospitality and cultural partner locations, and how to get to them.

Moving around the festival
Come to IFFR by train, bus, or bike. We promote all our visitors to travel by train as much as possible. Upon arrival at Rotterdam Central, you will immediately see that the city is once again dedicated to IFFR, and you will be welcomed by one of the Art Directions projects in the station hall.
In Rotterdam, you can move around with the public transit service RET (bus, metro, tram), and if not, we encourage you to opt for shared or electric transportation.
Katoenhuis, the hub for Art Directions, is easily accessible with bike, metro or you can take the Watertaxi to the stop ‘Keilehaven’. See the full details for Katoenhuis in the description below.

NS
When traveling in the Netherlands, use the NS to travel by train between different cities. It is also possible to rent OV-bikes at the Rotterdam Central Station with a personalized OV-Chipkaart. When traveling by train, make sure to check your travel online for any changes in schedules.

RET
In Rotterdam, use the RET (bus, tram and metro) to move between the various festival locations and or festival cafes. The locations at the Kop van Zuid are easy to reach by tram or metro. From metro stop Wilhelminaplein you can walk to LantarenVenster in 5 minutes. Location Katoenhuis is also easy to reach by metro *A, B, C) or tram (line 1, 7, 8 and 11). From Marconiplein you can walk to Katoenhuis in about 15 minutes.

With the RET app you can easily plan your trip. You can download it from the app store.P+R site
Travelling from outside of Rotterdam? Park your car at one of the P+R lots and continue your trip to IFFR by metro. Convenient P+R locations are Slinge, Kralingse Zoom, Alexander, Capelsebrug, Hoogvliet, Meijersplein, Melanchtonweg. If you travel on with a OV-Chipkaart, parking at the P+R is free.Even easier to travel
OVpay is the new way of checking in and out in public transportation in the Netherlands. With RET you can easily check in and out with your debit card, credit card or mobile phone. You do not have to activate anything. For more information visit ret.nl/ovpay. -
Watertaxi
When visiting Katoenhuis for the Art Directions Installations, take the Watertaxi to go there and get off at the stop ‘Keilehaven’. This will bring you directly to Katoenhuis.

Arriving from abroad?

Schiphol Airport to Rotterdam
If you’re arriving by plane, the fastest way from Schiphol Airport to Rotterdam is the NS Intercity Direct train, taking just 26 minutes. The station is located directly below the terminal. Take the Intercity Direct trains, listed on departure boards, which run nonstop to Rotterdam, sometimes continuing to Breda or Brussels. Make sure to buy your Intercity Direct supplement in addition to the NS ticket.
Festival locations
The locations of IFFR are spread across the city of Rotterdam.
The festival’s heart is located at ‘de Doelen’. During the festival you can enter via the Willem Burger Zaal entrance on Kruisplein 40 which is less than a five-minute walk from Rotterdam Centraal train station.

Take tram 1, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 or 11 to Kruisplein. Alternatively, you can reach ‘de Doelen’ within 7 to 10 minutes from Rotterdam Centraal, so you can also take metro lines D or E to Centraal Station.
The entrance for the Opening Night and Closing Night will be at Schouwburgplein 50.

Take tram 1, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 or 11 to Kruisplein. Alternatively, it’s a 6-minute walk from Rotterdam Centraal, so you can also take metro lines D or E to Centraal Station and walk from there. From metro station Stadhuis (lines D or E), it’s a 5-minute walk. From metro station Beurs (lines A, B or C), it’s a 5 to 10-minute walk.
Accesibility
All rooms are wheelchair accessible and can be reached via the lift. Please approach the info desk at the location if you want to use the lift since it can only be used with the help of staff at the location.

Take the metro to Beurs (lines A, B, C, D or E), or tram 1, 3, 5, 11 to Beurs. Cinerama is 5 to 10 minutes away from the Beurs stop.
Accesibility
The venue is not accessible for wheelchair users and there are no wheelchair spots available in the screening rooms. There is no elevator at the venue.

Take metro lines D or E, or tram 1, 3, 4, 7 or 11 to Stadhuis or tram 1, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 11 or 12 to Weena. Oude Luxor can be reached within 5 minutes from there. From Rotterdam Central Station, Oude Luxor is reachable within 10-15 minutes.

Visiting Katoenhuis
For the second year running, Katoenhuis will be the main venue and partner for Art Directions, hosting installations, immersive media and for the first time – the industry extension of the programme, Lightroom. Katoenhuis is located in M4H, Rotterdam’s creative district.

We will be running shuttle busses from ‘de Doelen’ to Katoenhuis. Please sign-up at the information desk. There will be a maximum of 8 spots per shuttle.

Take the tram from ‘de Doelen’
Apart from our shuttle, the quickest way to get to Katoenhuis from the festival heart at ‘de Doelen’ is via the tram.
Take the tram from the Kruiskade stop: when you leave the festival heart via the festival Kruisplein exit, turn left and walk a short distance before turning right crossing the street at the zebra crossing. Walk towards the Pho Vietnamese restaurant, at which point the Kruiskade tram stop will be in front of you. Wait for the 1, 7 or 11 tram heading westwards (to the right, looking from the restaurant). The journey will then be around 12 minutes or 7 stops to Marcoiplein.
Once there, it is a 10-15 minute walk to Katoenhuis. Festival flags will guide you when you arrive at Marconiplein. Find your way via Google Maps here.

Metro
If you are travelling from elsewhere in Rotterdam, Katoenhuis is accessible via metro from stop Marconiplein on metro line A, B, or C.
Once there, it is a 10-15 minute walk to Katoenhuis. Festival flags will guide you when you arrive at Marconiplein. Find your way via Google Maps here.

Watertaxi
Katoenhuis is very conveniently located directly next to the Watertaxi drop-off point ‘Keilehaven’. This is esspecially helpful if you are travelling from the Kop van Zuid (Hotel New York), near to the Fenix museum. Find out more here.

Club IFFR
Also in 2026, IFFR will continue with Club IFFR on Friday (January 30 and February 6) and Saturday (January 31 and February 7), after the last film. Club IFFR takes place at Theater Rotterdam. In 2026 we are introducing an entrance fee of €5 per person for Club IFFR. Tickets can be bought online and it will also be possible to buy tickets at the door (subject to capacity). Please note: arrive early at Club IFFR to avoid disappointment and be prepared you might need to queue.
Merchandise
Check out our IFFR merchandise for sale through the webshop and physical locations during the festival. This year you can find the physical shops in the festival heart in de Doelen and at Pathé Schouwburgplein, and this year there will also be a small shop at Katoenhuis. We have special merchandise available with our visual campaign for the 55th edition of the festival and new products with the tiger logo.
