What if the night was consumed until it disappeared completely?
Perpetual Radiance is a short film that exaggerates the effects of artificial light in the 21st century and the resulting disappearance of the night sky. It is set in a future where darkness no longer exists: only the uncontrolled glow of ALAN (Artificial Light at Night) remains.
The film juxtaposes a fictional storyline with footage created during field research in the Netherlands. This contrast creates a surreal yet familiar atmosphere that prompts us to question the subtle vanishing of the night.
