About the films

Film still: Soñé su nombre

Soñé su nombre (I Dreamed His Name) by Ángela Carabalí

Afro-Colombian filmmaker Ángela Carabalí and her sister set out to uncover the story of their father, who was forcibly disappeared 30 years earlier. Their journey through Colombia brings together family memories, the aftermath of violence and the bonds between people, land and history. Searching for their father also becomes a way to give his life and legacy a spiritual place once more.

Vienen las grietas (Cracks Will Come) by Daniel Mateo Vallejo Gutiérrez

A character tries to break free from the constraints and hierarchies of an art institution. This experimental short film explores the tension between artistic freedom and institutional control.
