SLEEPCINEMAHOTEL is neither a film, an installation, nor an imaginary script. It is an actual, operational hotel where the guests who have booked a bed (single or double) all end up in the same screening room. This is a large hall with on the one side a constellation of open sleep modules, and on the other side an impressive circular projection screen. Guests who stay overnight and daytime visitors alike will be transported to Weerasethakul’s preferred plane of existence: one where sleep and film, ghosts and imagination, the past and the present collide.
