Sam Nieuwenhuis

Sam NIEUWENHUIS originally studied international business administration and philosophy and then began to work for a big corporation. However, he soon realised that this path didn’t satisfy his need for creativity and autonomy. His passion for storytelling and the desire to address important societal matters led him to the world of filmmaking. In 2021, Nieuwenhuis crossed paths with Marco Lubbers, a talented Amsterdam-based filmmaker and executive producer, who founded the agency Catch Your Moment. This meeting ignited Sam’s love for cinema as a medium of impact. Over the next few years, he worked on his skills in storytelling and filmmaking, developing a deep interest in documentary work. His debut film, Papa, ik ben (2025), is a personal and heartfelt exploration of fatherhood and identity.
