Faith Hubley

Faith HUBLEY (1924–2001, US) was an influential American animator known for her films that drew on science, mythology and global folk traditions. With her husband John Hubley, she co-directed a celebrated body of animated films until his death in 1977, after which she continued an exceptionally prolific solo career. Her work has screened at major festivals worldwide and has been honoured with numerous awards. Her films have been preserved and exhibited by major institutions, including the National Gallery of Art and the Smithsonian. In 2000, she co-directed Witch Madness with her daughter Emily Hubley, a short selected for IFFR 2026 The Future Is NOW focus.
