Benito Alazraki

Benito ALAZRAKI (1921–2007) was a Mexican filmmaker and producer. His debut feature Raíces (1954) received the International Critics’ Prize at the 1955 Cannes Film Festival. Among his most notable works are Ladrones de niños (1958) and Santo contra los zombies (1962). Together with his brother Samuel Alazraki, he founded Panamerican Films, a production company behind celebrated Mexican titles such as Enamorada (1976) and La diosa arrodillada (1974). During the 1960s, he lived in Spain, where he also produced films for Radio Televisión Española.
