Zeki Demirkubuz

Zeki DEMIRKUBUZ (1964, Turkey) studied Communication at the University of Istanbul. He started his film career in 1986 as assistant director to Zeki Ökten. In 1994 he directed his first feature, Block C. After this, he continued to work as an independent filmmaker writing his own original screenplays. Many of his films have been shown at international film festivals and his film Kader won in 2006 the award for Best Film at the Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival. His scenarios often revolve around ethical dilemmas of the human condition, like his most recent film Hayat (2023), selected for IFFR 2024.
