Vani Subramanian

Vani SUBRAMANIAN (1965, UK) is a documentary filmmaker and women’s rights activist, active since the 1990s. Her films explore the intersection of everyday practices, societal perceptions and broader political issues, addressing themes such as cultural dynamics, food practices, education, sectarianism and reproductive rights. Her work has received recognition both nationally and internationally. She has taught as guest faculty at various institutions, including Cornell University and the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi. She also works as the Creative Director of the reFrame Institute of Art and Expression, where she mentors and produces artistic works that engage with contemporary societal challenges.
