Multidisciplinary artist Robin COOPS (1988, Netherlands) studied directing at the Maastricht Academy of Dramatic Arts. He obtained Master’s degrees at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague and the Netherlands Film Academy in Amsterdam. In his work, he uses technology to research the tension between the analogue body and the digital machine. Genres like horror and tech-noir are used as a device to emphasise themes. Coops works and collaborates with companies such as Silbersee, Oorkaan, and the VR Academy. With his M31 Foundation, he produced and directed the opera Der Kaiser von Atlantis and the website/performance Disconnect. With the music projects Human 2.0, CHAOS, New Realities and The Saga of Sage, he explored how to integrate theatrical and visual elements into a rock concert.
