Matthieu Delaporte
Matthieu DELAPORTE (1971, France) is a French screenwrtier, film and television director and playwright. After studying history, he made his first short film Musique de chambre, which screened and was awarded at several film festivals. From 1996 to 2001 he joined Canal+, where he was in charge of writing fiction for the show Le Vrai Journal (1996–2006). He has collaborated over several years with Alexandre de la Patellière, including co-writing the comedy Les Parrains (2005) and other films ranging in genre from animation to comedy. In 2006 he directed his first feature film La Jungle. He won the SACD New Theatre Talent Award and the French Academy Young Talent Award. Le Comte de Monte-Cristo (2024) had its world premiere at Cannes and has its Dutch premiere at IFFR 2025.
