Loïc Hobi

Loïc HOBI is a Swiss-French filmmaker born in 1997. Loïc likes roller coasters, action movies and men. He acquired his passion for cinema attending NIFFF, his local genre film festival. He left Switzerland at 20 to study directing at Luc Besson’s film school from which he graduated in 2019. Since then he is based in Paris and went on to direct narrative and experimental shorts; like The Life Underground and ALEXX196 & the pink sand beach, both VFX heavy films which premiered in competition at the Locarno Film Festival and gained Loïc a nomination for the Swiss Film Prize in 2021. For Loïc a film is like a roller coaster ride; he is working on his feature film projects with the aim to tell intimate stories with thrilling imagery in order to take on the screens he grew up watching and bring his stories to international audiences.
