Hesome Chemamah

Hesome CHEMAMAH (1996, Thailand) was born in Narathiwat, a mostly Muslim town in southern Thailand. His work often concerns the theme of identity crisis, the breaking down of family units and conflict with societal norms, especially the norm of his southern Thai Muslim background. Hesome’s thesis short film I’m Not Your F***ing Stereotype (2019) received Best Southeast Asian Short Film award at Singapore International Film Festival in 2019 and Best Short Film at Bangkok Critics Assembly Award. It was also selected at over 20 film festivals around the world, most notably Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival and Oberhausen Film Festival.
