Hanung Bramantyo
Hanung BRAMANTYO (1975, Indonesia) is a director and writer known for Bittersweet Seventeen (2022), Cinta Tapi Beda (2012) and The Gift (2018). Bramantyo began his filmmaking journey with the 1998 short film Tlutur and made his feature-length debut in 2004 with Brownies. Gaining widespread recognition with the 2008 religious romance Ayat-Ayat Cinta, a critical and commercial hit, he has since become known for exploring diverse genres and themes. His early career focused on teen romances, while his later works have shifted towards religious dramas and socially conscious storytelling. Bramantyo has also ventured into sports-themed films, showcasing his versatility as a filmmaker. His latest film The Hole, 309 Days To The Bloodiest Tragedy (2025) is selected for IFFR 2026.
