Goyo Anchou
Goyo ANCHOU (1973, Argentina) is a film director and producer. He has been able to build a career thanks to guerrilla film production: that is, the practice of cinema in the worst possible conditions. He was a historian of Argentine cinema for a brief time, then a programmer for the Mar del Plata Film Festival, where he introduced several notable directors to audiences who were then still unknown, and, finally, fell into disgrace before the Argentinian National Film Institute. When it was predicted that he would never be able to film again, he became a prostitute in Buenos Aires’ red light district, but kept on making films on his own terms. Homophobia! (2024) is his fifth feature film.
