Alauda Ruiz de Azúa

Alauda RUIZ DE AZÚA (1978, Spain) is a film director and screenwriter. After directing several acclaimed short films, she made her feature debut with Five Little Wolves (2022), which premiered in the Panorama section of the Berlinale and won the Goya Award for Best New Director. In 2023, she directed the feature You Are You. Her work often focuses on intimate family dynamics and emotional realism. Ruiz de Azúa expanded into television as creator, writer and director of the series Querer (2024), produced by Movistar Plus+. In 2025, she won the Golden Shell at the San Sebastián International Film Festival for her feature Los domingos (2025), which she wrote and directed.
