The construction of a state-of-the-art airport forces the residents of a centuries-old village to look for a new home. What remains is a ghost village, filled with the remnants of the people and stories that once lent life to it. The folklore of the village lives on, brought to life through five different stories and shot in a range of cinematic styles. Tales include that of the idiosyncratic projectionist who would daydream during the shows and the story of the man who visited a pond older than the village itself every evening after work.
A Flower in a Foglight pulls no punches in its portrayal of the dark side of technological developments. But it is also a beautifully crafted farewell and ode to a place that will soon be no more.
