Following an anxiety attack and a bout of depression, filmmaker Daniel Lentini allows his camera to show the way, and he leaves Rio de Janeiro. In short scenes, he shows us the things that attract his attention. A stretch of river, a bird in a room, the shadow of a window frame on a wall, a close-up of a dog, the reflection of his own face in a cup of coffee. All filmed with love, leaving space for the stories of people sharing a similar fate in Cuba, Haiti and Brazil. The fear and unrest he feels in himself and others remain hidden behind the poetic, almost abstract, scenes.
‘I live, therefore I film’ is one of the rules of life the filmmaker has imposed upon himself. In the tension of contemporary Brazil, he turns his attention to the ordinary and thus creates a moment of peace and happiness.

A humorous hostage drama where everyone exploits everyone else during a hot summer in the French countryside. Seemingly pathetic tedium, perfectly presented.
