Ayan and the White Balloon

This film is part of IFFR White Nights and will be screened daily from 13 to 17 July.
The filmmaker (‘the white balloon’) returns from Europe to her native Iran, hoping to shoot a movie with some old friends. Her friend Ayan questions the white balloon’s motives, when she wants to play out a bribery scene. What kind of Iran does she want to present, and to whom? A personal film, looking from different angles at migration, identity, friendship and change vis-à- vis contemporary Iran.
