Larissa Figueiredo: `We arrived at (Brazilian) Lençois Island as a crew wanting to make a film about a young Portuguese woman (actress Joana de Verona) who visits the island wanting to know more about the local legend of the enchanted bull and its relationship with King Don Sebastian of Portugal (who disappeared in the lost battle at Alcacer Quibir in Morocco). We left the place completely convinced that we had visited an enchanted kingdom, inhabited by all the descendants of this Portuguese king, who inexplicably anchored his ship at this island in the extreme North and Northeast of Brazil’.
‘The material collected in the filming of The Bull it is not for us just rushes of a possible film. It’s a document of an experience, of meetings, and an attestation that there is a magical kingdom, led by El Rey Dom Sebastião, and that we had the great honor to visit it. We hope to be able now to also provide, through this film, the opportunity for other people to enter in this magical universe.’
