Where does Africa, the dark continent, stand? After forty years of regained independence, the African continent is in turmoil, struggling with the contradictions between its desire to be liberated from colonial supervision and its dependence on the goodwill and charity of rich countries. This film is a forum in which Africans are asked how they see their continent and its leaders, how they view the international community and its compulsive compassion, what their analysis is of Africa's situation in today's geopolitical context and how they contemplate their future in the huge global upheavals that are underway. After many years spent abroad, Samba Félix N'diaye returns to his native city of Dakar, and this homecoming to Senegal arouses in him deep questions at the political, economic and historical levels.
