The Taiwanese marriage market is nothing without the matchmaker Chen, who is specialised in difficult cases. She likes to tackle them and thinks that young women should hurry, because otherwise they'll be left on the shelf. Wu, the maker of this tragicomic documentary, also finds herself a client of Chen. Wu has the feeling she missed the boat, but Chen knows what to do with such ‘hopeless’ spinsters. Her motto: There's nothing wrong with failing, as long as you know why you failed.
While Wu waits impatiently, she follows a few couples who have found each other under the supervision of Chen. Some couples have just fallen off their silver clouds and bicker openly about everyday annoyances. Others have more deep-seated problems, and reproaches about selfishness and cold-heartedness never stop. Torturing silence is their tactic. With fifty percent of marriages ending in divorce, Taiwan tops the tables in Asia - so there's plenty of work for Chen.
