Window Drawing

Former IFFR-artist in focus Anri Sala distills his fascination for time based arts into a contemporary variation of the sun-dial. A series of inkjet-prints evokes the passages of time in a most minimal way. The window is the main image of a video-loop. It shows the projection of the window’s shadow on the wall of a room. The light source comes from outside. He plays with the notion of the camera-obscura, and emphasizes the transition of light from the exterior to an interior world. His relatively simple single-channel videos use no installation-theatrics, no virtuosic manipulations, no clever ploys.
