Filmed over a period of three weeks with erratic shifts in light, darkness and movement from the position below the film screen and facing the spectators, Coop Cinema Amsterdam gives a rare glimpse into the time, space and viewing habits of Electric Cinema. Austrian Kurt KREN (1929-1998) has been called the father of post-war European avant-garde cinema and is regarded in some circles as the continental equivalent of Stan Brakhage . Kren took part in the Destruction-in-Art symposium in London and was co-founder of the Austria Filmers Cooperative. He lived for a long time in the United States and returned to Austria in 1989.
