Thunderbolt is about Ngosi, a young and elegant lady of Igbo origins, and Yinka, a Yoruba boy. They meet during their National Youth Service (a kind of alternative social call-up) and fall in love with each other. Their mixed marriage - that conflicts with the dominant folk wisdom -creates many problems that are stirred up by rumours about extramarital affairs. This damages the trust between the dedicated Ngozi and the jealous Yinka. In the drama that then unfolds, Ngozi gets magun, a mysterious and deadly chastity potion: through magun, every unfaithful partner will die immediately after intercourse.
