This film is one of the finest works by Girish Kasaravalli, in which he shows his talent to create suspense and build a plot around an mysterious, abstract obstacle. This low budget film portrays the relationship of a couple who just got married. They are bursting with desire to start living together. Rajanna and Geetha set up their home in a crowded street in the big city. Soon, however, something disturbs the smooth flow of their lives. Though the shed next door lies empty during the day, at night a group of people come and work there, keeping the neighbourhood awake with the terrible noise. When all efforts to get the shed vacated fail, the couple seek the help of Geetha's aunt who knows a senior police officer. A confrontation between Geetha and Rajanna makes them realise that the only choice left to them is to search for a new home and start their lives all over again. Two brilliant actors, Naseeruddin Shah and Deepti Naval, appearing both in popular and parallel cinema, gave one of their best performances in this intimate film. In this movie, more than in others, Girish Kasaravalli confronts his characters with some mysterious obstacles that they can not name or even define, but they can not escape them either.
