No other film maker would be able to record on film the sense of melancholy and contemplation that can overcome a man alone in a hotel room so convincingly as JeanClaude Rousseau. And this latest film, his first on digital video, is again a masterful hotelroom film. Staring at the incident light (yes, Rousseau is also the Edward Hopper of film), he waits for the inevitable moment of departure and writes a farewell letter to a friend.
