In the past 35 years, Rosa von Praunheim has made about 60 films, both in Germany and America. In the 1970s, he became very wellknown with a variety of pioneering and provocative films about homosexuality. The subject of his last film has very little to do with the gay scene though. It is about a theatre company from Berlin made up of homeless people, called 'Ratten 07'. The actors come from the street: some call themselves anarchists, others have been in jail, many are lacking a lot of teeth. They are no strangers to alcohol, drugs and violence, but theatre remains their great passion.Rosa von Praunheim invited the company to a castle in Mecklenburg, where they joined forces to develop and film a story. It's about a kind of New Age therapist (Uta Plate) who wants to do things right, but her hypocritical bourgeois nature means she mainly wants the 'losers' to adapt to social norms. The 'Rats' kidnap the therapist and take over her castle until angry villagers launch an attack. Everything seems lost, but then a miracle happens.
