Céline is twenty. After a dramatic event, she has lost everything. A nurse, Geneviève, saves her from a suicide attempt and then takes her under her wing. She helps Céline to rebuild her life and sooths her pain with relaxation exercises. Little by little, Céline's life starts to regain its colour. The two girls become friends. Céline starts to enjoy the exercises and strange things happen to her. Sometimes she leaves her body during meditation to find herself somewhere else; sometimes she has strange premonitions; people who approach her are the subject of visions and curious transformations.Céline tells a mystical and miraculous story that is also closely tied to reality. This enlightened and moving film is one of rare intensity and reveals the inner light of Céline and Geneviève, who are bound by the power of love. The energy they transmit - white, glistening light from one, black light from the other - radiates to the world that surrounds them. The power of their love is tragic; they are condemned to it wherever they are, in life or death. The apparitions, miracles, levitations and the holy - more than clichés here - turn it into a film of mysteries, in the sacred sense. In addition, it is a film about education and communication because, as always with Brisseau, the characters need faith and salvation. (Jacques Déniel)
