Gladki flees the hospital where he was being treated for his heroin addiction and calls his girlfriend Lupa for help. She finds him half conscious and wants to help him kick the habit. She chooses a pretty radical way: she sets Gladki's legs in plaster and locks him up in a room. Lupa is convinced that she, and she alone, can help Gladki and she becomes increasingly suspicious of the outside world. In the meantime, a strange relationship develops between her and Gladki's methadon supplier. Gladki seems to be successful with her approach, but then terrible secrets from their youth threaten to emerge...Slepa pega, made in Slovenia, is the feature début of Hanna Slak, who has already amply earned her spurs with documentaries. Her father, the wellknown Slovenian director Franic Slak, produced the film. The contrasting and stylishly shot images are striking thanks to the almost colourless half tones. The characters are raw, intense and not devoid of a fatalistic attitude, partly thanks to their inadequate living conditions, e.g. poverty and unemployment.Hanna Slak: 'I wanted to show the struggle of the girl who is determined to save the one she loves. What was meant as a noble quest, turns into a painful journey when she refuses help from without.'
