On the morning of 11 September 2001, Matt Hulse was editing the pictures and sound of a ten-year old installation he had made into a film. The installation, entitled Overheated, was about the Gulf War. Now Bush Jr. was in power, Hulse thought that his old work might possibly acquire new relevance. While he was putting the finishing touches to the credits, two hijacked aeroplanes were flown into the World Trade Centre. Hulse: 'My old work was immediately framed into a sickening new context and I realise that, as general Schwarzkopf had expressed it a decade earlier, the war was not over yet.'
