Film School Confidential

One of the most difficult moments for a film school student is the moment when they have to show their first attempts to their classmates. Not everyone laughs if it's a comedy, or they do laugh at any attempt to be serious. The film introduces five students, each wrestling with this problem in their own way. The tone of the film is however lighthearted. In that sense, the film is related to the genre of the highschool comedy with all its problems about popularity, gossip and first sex.The intellectual Sara makes an all too serious film about the inadequacies of human communication. It takes a long time before she realises that the accidentally filmed outtakes form the key to a better film. Her boyfriend Greg has chosen to learn to become a cameraman. In a spare moment, he helps the shy firstyear student Marta with the video recording of what seems to be a primitive and childish puppet show. In the end, Marta's clumsy animation will turn out to be the film with the most impact. Sal makes a smallscale, honest and apparently decent film, one that he himself underestimates. Mark focuses on consuming a variety of drugs and so his film is very psychedelic, but certainly not bad. He is the first of the five to be offered a good job making leaders and bumpers for a commercial TV station.
