Una noche con Sabrina Love

A film that is striking for its elegant style, beautiful production design and the vivacious way the characters confront their problems. The protagonist is Daniel Montero (17), whose parents died in a car crash. Daniel lives with grandma in a small village, 150 kilometres from Buenos Aires. He competes in a contest by writing a letter to the porn star Sabrina Love and is stunned to win first prize: a night with Sabrina Love. In Buenos Aires, he sees his elder brother again after many years, he meets a crazy writer and the young outspoken journalist Sofia and finally his idol herself.Una noche con Sabrina Love is a heart-warming film about a boy growing up. Each encounter shatters the next piece of Daniel's dreams. He doesn't mind too much, because of the love of the people around him and the lessons they teach him. Despite the dramatic moments, it is an optimistic and even cheerful film. The actors all provide fine performances. In the supporting roles we recognise e.g. Giancarlo Giannini and Luis Margani (from Mundo Grúa). Cecilia Roth, who was elected European actress of the year in 1999 in Berlin, is wonderful as the 'whore with the golden heart', who takes a motherly interest in the inexperienced and sensitive Daniel, who is played with great natural talent by Tomas Fonzi, a budding star.
