The lecture by Bert Mulder is about digitalising images. Technical developments ensure that everyone has the tools to work with picture and sound. As a result cinema is gaining a network structure with pictures and sound describing the narrative and the scriptwriter, director, editor and viewer all form part of the same network. The one who films, watches, and the one who watches, films. Reality acquires a narrative structure, that we realise in the expression of our identity. Bert Mulder (1952) was for ten years the head of the computer department of Veronica and was a member of the Apple Technology Team. He is now director of a consultancy in the field of design en multimedia. He also teaches and is information-technology adviser to the Dutch parliament.
