A tired horse slowly pulls a cart through the icy white snow. On the cart is an old man with grey hair: Sinbad. The landlady of a small villa in an outer suburb is startled. She recognises the unexpected stranger. It was he who symbolised love before she found herself in a tranquil yet unhappy marriage. Married women and girls flash before your eyes in a playful map of memories. Brief encounters and strange adventures of Sinbad, languishing girls, frustrated wives - they were all Sinbad's lovers. Maybe because Sinbad himself is love personified... The director based his poetic film on the volatile, lyrical, almost surrealistic works of Gyula Krúdy, the great Hungarian novelist at the turn of the century. Huszárik's experiences in the fine arts, the camerawork by Sándor Sára and the fine leading role by Zoltán Latinovits make Szindbád a feast for the eye.
