Original producers' version of The Hour of Liberation by Heiny Srour (see that film). The film shows unique (and in 1972 new) documentary pictures of the activities of the guerilla movement in Dhofar, a province of Oman that borders on Yemen. The guerillas, supported by the communist Yemen, led the rebellion against the British-supported Sultan. The film is set in a time when the British had officially pulled out of the Persian Gulf, but did not give up specific strategic positions, especially in Oman. The pictures, e.g. of British air attacks on the guerillas, were made by an Arab girl who sympathised with the guerillas and two French technicians. The film shows how the people are taught the principles of Marxist-Leninism and how the guerillas contribute to the infrastructure of the very underdeveloped area.
