Short, ironic and fanciful film about two meteorologists, Ray and Stanley, on their way to a tornado. An emotional storm is waging between the two because Ray has just heard that his friend and colleague Stanley has been to bed with his girlfriend. The beautiful and mysterious Ruby brings more distraction and persuades the men to take her with them. The film comprises many light-hearted references to The Wizard of Oz, such as the storm itself, Ray and Stanley's machine that, like Dorothy's dog, is called Toto and Ruby, who is named after the Ruby Slippers. The fanciful ending is the most explicit homage to the essence of Oz. The title is the scientific name for the effect of the earth's turning has on what happens on the surface, such as tornados.
