Ten years ago the duet of directors Klopfenstein / Legnazzi made E Nachtlang Füürland, a film about the 'autonomous' (anarcho-punk) movement of the early eighties, seen through the eyes of a typical representative of the '68 generation. That film focused on the radio reporter Max Rüdlinger and the same is true of this sequel, although Rüdlinger has changed with the times. He is no longer interested in political journalism and goes in search of stories of ordinary people for his small local radio station 'Rainbow'. The clumsy and pathetic Rüdlinger is also hunting for a woman. The film displays the necessary (self-)mockery of the makers' own generation.Through the experiences of the comic radio reporter, Füürland 2 is primarily about the very Swiss city of Bern. The film is set against the background of celebrations to mark the 700th anniversary of the Swiss Confederation, which in Bern coincided with the 800th anniversary of the city itself. The festivities were grasped by Swiss women to demand extra attention for discrimination against them using strikes and demonstrations.Füürland 2 was shot as a low-budget documentary, an extremely low-budget documentary; it is made on the Hi-8 amateur-video format Hi-8 and later transferred to 35 mm. The limited size and great flexibility of the crew +!+ comprising two directors and a Japanese camera +!+ made it possible to improvise and film everywhere quickly.
