`-A grand, professional and intelligently told psychological comedy about lust and purity. It focuses on two young girls, Bianca and Paulina, who live in an old mansion. One evening they are almost caught out while they are watching a television programme about the sex life of people and animals. Surprised by the unexpected return of Bianca's father, they zap to a different channel. The film they then see is composed of old archive material and forms the start of their journey into the past. In the same mansion, in the same room with the same girls, but in a different age, the story of Bianca and Paulina is continued, completely dominated by problems surrounding their puberty and growing up. Bianca has a sensitive and poetic nature. She experiences the traditional role assigned to her as detestable and is afraid of the marriage planned for her to the immature Benjamin whom she doesn't love. Paulina is a self-confident and extravert girl who can cope much better with life and who even reacts light-heartedly to her grandfather's amorous advances. Other relatives play a role in the confused life of the two girls with their public and private loves and frustrations. Bianca is not able to avoid the fate forced on her. An escape into the world of imagination doesn't help; she is driven more and more towards insanity. Her ideal of purity seems unattainable; a white wedding is out of the question.
