Take the leap: IFFR 2025 festival campaign
The Tiger is adventurous in its exploration, and unafraid of the unknown – discovering something about itself with every move it makes.
A list of images
The Tiger is out on the streets of Rotterdam once again! This time, it presents cinema as a medium of change and transformation. The Tiger is adventurous in its exploration, and unafraid of the unknown – discovering something new about itself with every move it makes.
Rotterdam agency 75B, together with our Festival Director Vanja Kaludjercic, have created a playful, mysterious campaign that reflects the joy of the unknown through a mix of styles, colours and textures across a series of distinct images.
Vanja Kaludjercic, Festival Director said: “Films give us the opportunity to be curious about the world, to become someone else, and to discover sides of ourselves we might never notice otherwise.
The Tiger leaps through the screen and shifts from bronze to carmine; with each new direction it takes and each new experience it encounters, its fur changes to a different hue. To the Tiger, a blue screen can represent anything from the heavens above to the seas below. Whatever it is, the Tiger will see it, and that is why it came to the cinema.
“Viewing and showing films connects people, groups, communities, locals and strangers, never more intensely connected than in Rotterdam during the festival.”
The Tiger walks through a door. But does it leave the house, or is it arriving for a visit? Private and public, home and world, merge and intertwine on multiple levels in cinema. Viewing and showing films connects people, groups, communities, locals and strangers, never more intensely connected than in Rotterdam during the festival.”
Rens Muis, 75B said: “Going to a screening means you’ll experience something you didn’t even know was out there. Anything can happen, but one thing’s certain: the programmers picked it for a reason – this is something you have to see.
“These tigers appear in surprising, surreal Magritte-like settings. Because films shift reality and give us new ways of looking at the world.”
That’s why we’re featuring an open Tiger as a mysterious silhouette, open for your own interpretation. These tigers appear in surprising, surreal Magritte-like settings. Because films shift reality and give us new ways of looking at the world.”
New website launch
As we launch our campaign, we’re happy to share that IFFR.com has had a makeover! IFFR have partnered with Rotterdam agency Level Level for a new version of the website which now also includes a festival look and feel, where the campaign’s vibrancy is given the spotlight. We’re happy to further collaborate with Level Level as the provider of our cinema screen dashboard during the festival.
