Image Coordinator

International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) presents a leading film festival and year-round programme. We support new and adventurous filmmaking talent not just in the screening room, but also through initiatives such as CineMart, the Hubert Bals Fund, Rotterdam Lab and other industry activities. In January each year, we bring together emerging and established filmmakers and artists from around the world to showcase a visionary programme of independent films, talks, exhibitions, performances, installations, immersive media and more. IFFR attracts over 300,000 visits to screenings and events annually.

In January/February 2026, we will celebrate the 55th edition of our 11-day festival, and we are looking for an Image Coordinator (f/m/x) to join our Communications team. This concerns a temporary contract (5-6 months).

About the role

The Image Coordinator is responsible for collecting, processing and delivering publicity materials for IFFR programme selections. This includes managing the visual content for the festival catalogue, programme guide, IFFR.com, YouTube and other channels/publications. The role also ensures that all visual content is representative of IFFR’s films and programme, maintaining quality and a consistent tone of image across different platforms. Furthermore, the role coordinates festival photography and Photoshelter workflows. Working in the Communications team, part of the larger Audiences & Communities division, the Image Coordinator reports directly to the Head of Communications.

  • Key responsibilities and accountabilities

    • Monitor programme selections and request the necessary publicity materials.
    • Process, edit and select publicity materials (incl. stills, trailers, clips, posters) taking into account specifications of different platforms and publications.
    • Act as photography coordinator and manage the IFFR photoshelter.
    • Request and deliver visual content (clips and stills) for events including the IFFR press conference, awards ceremonies and talks.
    • Ensure visual content (eg stills, images, trailers) meets IFFR’s standards, is representative of the programme and matches the tone of image across all platforms.
    • Observing IFFR deadlines, timely prepare and upload publicity materials for the IFFR programme guide, catalogue, IFFR.com, YouTube and other channels.
    • Coordinate the Paper Tigers volunteers team in the lead-up to and during the festival.
  • Who are you?

    Ideally you are/will have:

    • A good understanding of image curation;
    • Strong organisational, planning and team-working skills;
    • A keen eye for detail;
    • Excellent English language communication skills, both in speech and writing;
    • Familiar with image editing software like Photoshop;
    • Someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and communicates clearly under pressure;
    • Living in Rotterdam or within travelling distance;
    • Eligible to work in the Netherlands
