Based on a true story in which Hossein, a revolutionary and former junkie, set fire to a cinema and killed nearly 400 people a few months before the end of the revolution in 1979. At the moment of the fire, the film being screened was The Deer. Afrassiabi made use of Hossein’s original confession.
