The film shows several aspects of the boundary between film and
photography (such as colour/black-and-white, texture, light, optics, movement/detention) using the traditional genre of the portrait. The film also investigates psychological mechanisms at play before a camera. Using photos taken from youth (that show a heightened camera-awareness and heavy posing of the models) explicitly as a filmed image in the film (a black-and-white silent photograph) and juxtaposing these with moving colour images of the same people 25 years later, the film shows differences in appearance, attitude, and pose.
Window projection, 23 January - 3 February, Centrum voor Beeldende Kunst (CBK), Nieuwe Binnenweg 75, Rotterdam, between 18:00 and 01:00.
