Rio Nakada

Rio NAKADA (2008, Japan) is a media artist based in Tokyo whose work explores the intersection of art and technology through XR practices. Integrating haptics, sound and moving image, her projects investigate the reconstruction of inner worlds and sensory fluctuation, with a particular focus on psychological states such as PTSD, dissociation and altered perception. She has been selected for the Japanese Agency for Cultural Affairs’ Media Arts Creator Development Support Program and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry’s Soufu Creator Support Program. Her work has been presented in academic and interactive research contexts, and she continues to explore new experiential forms that enable audiences to engage with the inner experiences of others.
