Awards & competitions

The February festival days online were dedicated to IFFR’s main competitions – the Tiger Competition, Big Screen Competition and Ammodo Tiger Short Competition.

Tiger Competition

IFFR’s trademark Tiger Competition celebrates the innovative and adventurous spirit of up-and-coming filmmakers from all over the world. From an expanded Tiger Competition selection of sixteen premieres in 2021, Pebbles by Vinothraj P.S. was selected for the Tiger Award. I Comete – A Corsican Summer by Pascal Tagnati and Looking for Venera by Norika Sefa both won Special Jury Awards.

More awards

During the Awards Ceremony, an audience jury awarded the VPRO Big Screen Award to El perro que no calla by Ana Katz. The Ammodo Tiger Short Awards were given to Sunsets, everyday by Basir Mahmood, Terranova by Alejandro Pérez Serrano and Alejandro Alonso Estrella and Maat by Fox Maxy. The Robby Müller Award went to acclaimed American filmmaker Kelly Reichardt.
